REVIEW
I guess this place just opened; it was all shiny new empty booths when I checked it out for lunch today.
But I got the Yellow Potato Curry and man! was it good! It had the subtle flavors you expect from Thai food, but wasn`t so subtle that my big dumb American taste buds couldn`t figure out what was going on. (I do have that problem at some of the lauded Thai places around here.)
Somewhere between the time I placed my order and the time my dish came out I forgot that the description had mentioned pineapples. There is really no other experience like biting down on a piping hot juicy chunk of pineapple when you were expecting a potato. It was trippy, and really good. Did I say that already?
The coffee was also surprisingly tasty for a restaurant of this kind.
I look forward to trying some of the other items on the menu...it`s kind of a mish-mash of American breakfast foods, some with an Asian spin, and Chinese and Thai dishes for lunch and dinner.
As I mentioned above, I`m no authority on Thai food, so I`d be interested to hear what others have to say about this place. It`s on Washtenaw right next to Honeybaked Ham, so go there and see. This local yokel was impressed, though.
