When you Fertilize pick a basic hydroponic 2 or 3 part formula and stay on the low to mid side of the recommended dosage.  You need to use a complete fertilizer if you are not growing in soil.  Hydroponic fertilizers are complete whereas regular fertilizer doesn`t contain enough Calcium or Magnesium.  You can make your own fertilizer but you usually have to buy a big bag of each ingredient.

Grow in hydroton, rockwool, or coco coir.   You should also use rainwater or reverse osmosis water.  Keep your plants around people so that they can utilize the extra co2 and provide oxygen for you and your family
